This is called the ShinKyo also known as the sacred bridge, this bridge was used by the Shogun to cross and go to the temple opposite the river to pray.
Hello everyone, I am now in Japan, Toyko.Woke up at 4am this morning and took the 7 hour flight to Japan.
Reached Narita Airport at around 2 30. Took the Narita Express for about a hour to reach our destination, Ikebukuro. On the way, I enjoyed the scenery...I took some photos that I will put on my blog after my vacation.I noticed that the houses and buildings in Japan are not very tall as there are earthquakes in Japan.
The seats on the local train are very comfortable, compared to the seats in the Singapore MRT. The house of Ikebukuro(hotel) was a distance from the train station. The room was quite small, but still they are comfortable...
Tom morrow, all the Sec 1s are going for their camp and I had already packed my bag. I hope the camp will be very enriching and I would learn a lot of things from it.
Today, as part of sabbaticals, almost all the Sec 1s had the pre-preliminary rounds for the project module. Our group did quite well but the judges said that our idea was not very creative. They gave a positive comment though, they said that we were very lively and could project our voices properly, unlike the some other groups...
Yeah!!! It's Sabbaticals next week. The sec ones are having their first camp in HCI!!! I am so excited!
Yesterday, I went for the Milo Youth TRYathlon! Although it was tiring, I enjoyed the race a lot.I wanted to give some comments for the race though...When it rained that day, there was not enough shelters for the people.
I hope the next TRYathlon is going to be more fun!!!
The school value that I am going to talk about today is EXCELLENCE.
EXCELLENCE means to strive for continual improvement. Behavioral statements are: Set Goals, to have a can-do attitude, and last but not least, to create and to innovate.
Todya, I got back my results for my Maths test and my chinese composition. I got 28.5/40 for Maths and 47/70 for the Chinese composition. I improved a lot since the last tests. I hope I will improve even more on these subjects ...
These are examples on one of the school values, EXCELLENCE
Ms Gordon told the outer circle and the inner circle to create a blog post on the Socratic seminarthe whole class had last Friday.
She told the people in the outer circle to think about the question: Who do you think is the real "lamb" in the story? Who was the one who was really "slaughtered" in the story?
A: I think that Mary Maloney is the real "lamb" in the story. She was emotionally hurt by what her husband said, who was "slaughtered" by her using the frozen leg of lamb.
In another point of view, Mary's unborned baby is the "lamb" in this story. The baby would be borned with no father. Maybe after he is born ed, his mother would be hanged. So I think the baby may the real "lamb" in the story.
In the last point of view that I think is valid is that the "lambs" in the story are the policemen who are investigating the murder case. They believed that Mary could not be the one who committed the murder. So they stupidly accepted Mary's advice to eat the lamb and drink some whisky. The policemen were so tired after trying to find the murder weapon so they wolfed downed the lamb.
This is what I have to say about the Socratic seminar.
Thank you for your attention...
